Ty's 1st Cold

This week Ty has developed his first cold :( I thought maybe it was just allergies, but it is obvious now that it is more than that. He doesn't have a fever though, so we are just treating him with the humidifier in his room and lots of bulb syringes around the house. Of course it's hard for him to breathe, so sleeping and eating have not been very fun. We'll survive though. I'm sure it's the first of many!

Ty Goes To The Canal

Tonight we joined Denise and Craig for a double date. We had some yummy pizza at The Ordinary in Wanamaker, then went for a walk along the Canal in downtown Indy. The weather was perfect.

EARTHQUAKE!?!

How crazy was that, an earthquake?! I had just fed Ty and was trying to go back to sleep when about 5:30 this morning the bed started shaking and the house was creaking. I thought Dennis was shaking the bed or thunder was shaking the house. Dennis was up getting ready for work. We both looked at each other and said, "What was that?". Sure enough, it was a 5.2 earthquake. Kind of exciting since it happens so rarely. Ty didn't seem to notice. He just kept on sleeping (thank goodness :)

Born to Ride

Ty's 1 Month Old!

Ty is 1 month old now. At his check-up today, he weighed 10 lb 7 oz. He was a big boy and only cried for a minute when he got his Hepatitis B vaccine. Mommy was a big girl too and didn't cry. Ty has started interacting with us more and occasionally gives us a smile or coo, although his favorite things to do are still eating and sleeping. He has been enjoying frequent visits and kisses from both sets of grandparents and has even paid them a visit at their houses.

Playtime

Ty's friend Carly let him borrow her playmat. He stared at himself in the mirror for over a half hour. No wonder daddy calls him a "stud".

Ty's 1st Playdate

Ty's friends Nolan Jahn, and Ayden & Mya Young came to play today. We didn't get any pictures of Nolan :( so we'll have to make sure to do that next time.

Ty's Birth Announcement

Pack'n on the Pounds

Today we had a follow-up visit with Dr Fledderjohn. Ty's weight is up to 8 lbs 10 oz. Yea!

Ty's 1st Doctor Appointment

Today was Ty's first appointment with Dr. Fledderjohn. He didn't enjoy getting all undressed for the weigh in. Today he weighed 8 lbs 4 oz. So he's lost 12 oz. since delivery. Guess we've got some catching up to do. They're having us come back in a week to check again. In typical Ty-fashion, he pee'd all over the place when the doctor undid his diaper to check things out. He hasn't missed a doctor yet ;)

Ty Allan Black

Ty made his arrival on Friday, March 14, 2008 at 2:52pm. The delivery went very smoothly and Ty is doing great. Here are a few pictures. I'll add more and update you more later. These first few weeks have been VERY busy.

My "Last Supper"

My wonderful friends from church decided that I should eat a very late dinner the night before my C-section, since I couldn't eat until after the delivery. So tonight we met at Denny's at 10:30pm for my "last supper". I had a Grand Slam-a perfect ending to my pregnancy :)

A Celebration of Life

This Friday we will celebrate
the Life of our son, Riley Dean Black
on his 1st birthday, March 14th, 2008.

In honor of his birthday we had awareness bracelets made with his name on it. They were mailed out to immediate family and friends who were involved in Riley's short life. It is our hope that they will wear it on Riley’s birthday to remember our precious son and hopefully get the opportunity to share with others the impact his life has made.

I also took balloons to his gravesite. At Forest Lawn, they have very strict rules on decorating. Actually, all they allow is flowers in the vase or hanging on a shepherd's hook. Nothing else. But my neice Jacque and I snuck over today and tied balloons on Riley's hook as well as hooks on the babies sites around him. It looked like they were having a birthday party for him :) I'm sure the party in heaven is awesome. We still miss him, but celebrate his life in heaven and look forward to having both our boy's birthdays on the same day each year.

Talk About Spring Cleaning!

We had some new ceramic tile layed, extending from our kitchen to the garage door. Yea, no more strubbing shoe prints off the carpet! Now we're on a roll, today Dennis moved all the furniture and cleaned the carpets. Who's nesting now? :)
