Sleep-Over at Grandma & Grandpa Dillman's

Ty had his first sleepover at his Grandma & Grandpa Dillman's last night while Dennis and I went out with a friend from high school. My mom made him up a room complete with new crib sporting mechanic/tool decor and matchbox cars. As much as I'm sure they wanted to hold him all night, they stuck with our routine. I called at bedtime to check on him and he was "working on falling asleep". A few minutes later my mom called back to let me know he'd given up and was sleeping.

Last night the rain continued to fall. The thunderstorms have been quite impressive in the past few weeks. Last night we were wakened by very loud thunder and bright lightening bolts. I wondered if Ty was awakened too. When I woke this morning I was excited to go get my little man and rushed out of the house without hearing the news. Johnson County was flooded in various areas and was under a State of Emergency. The ponds and creeks were all overflowing and the park down the street was covered in flowing water.

Despite it all, my little man slept through the night. I'm so proud, what a good boy!

Chill'n in My Bumbo Seat

Ty is finally holding his head up enough to sit in his Bumbo Seat! Which is great because he can sit on the counter with me while I cook dinner. His abs must be getting stronger because he's always trying to sit up now when we're holding him.

Exersaucer Fun

Within the past week or so, Ty has really started to enjoy his exersaucer. It's become his new waketime entertainer (although he also recently discovered the TV during feedings). He's starting to get the hang of turning around it and getting to look at all the toy attachements. It's also nice for mommy because I know he's contained and safe while I can be free to do other things. I think it's good for him to learn to play by himself.

My First Trip To Daddy's Firehouse

Daddy showed me around...
I tried Daddy's boots on, but my whole body fit into one boot!

See?...

This is me sitting in Daddy's helmet.

Cool, can I go on a ride?

I can drive, I got this dad!

Look! The tire is twice as big as I am.

Thanks Dad, that was fun!

Grandma Discovers a New Favorite Toy

My wonderful parents are always volunteering (and even requesting) to watch Ty one or two nights a week while I go to worship team practice at church or small group. This week she discovered that Ty LOVES to look at this smiley face toy. It's just a cheap Chucky Cheese Toy that makes a funny noise when you shake it, but he doesn't care about that. All he wants to do is for you to just hold it still so he can stare and laugh at it. I think Ty entertained Grandma and Grandpa that night.

Oh My Gosh!!!

He did it!!! He just rolled over! He was supposed to be napping but decided to wake up crying halfway through, like usual. So I went in to put the pacifier in his mouth and right there in front of me...He rolled onto his back! I couldn't believe it. I ran and got the camera to take a picture of him and grab my phone to call Dennis. How exciting!

2 Month Check-up

"See my Snoopy bandaids, pretty cool huh?"

Today was Ty's 2 Month Check-up. Usually we see Dr. Fledderjohn, but she was out of town. So we met Dr. Hodson. She's also very nice and answered all our "1st time parent" questions. Ty is growing well, as you can see from his stats. He's in the 75th percentile in all categories. And he took his vaccines like a champ! All 5 shots and 1 oral dose. It still breaks my heart though. I stepped out to make his next appt time while Dennis stayed with him.

SLEEP for Mother's Day!

Mother's Day was WONDERFUL. My amazing husband arranged for Ty to spend the night with his grandma. Dennis took me to dinner. I actually got to eat an uninterrupted hot meal. After dinner we went to see a movie, Fool's Gold with Mathew McConnahay & Kate Hudson. Then we went for icecream. And then...the best part...I got to sleep all night! I have to say, I did miss my little guy. But I was so thankful for the rest :)

Dinner with Uncle Steve & Graund-Auntie Frosty

Tonight Ty & I had dinner with Uncle Steve and Graund-Auntie Frosty. No, Graund is not a spelling error. We've decided that's what Ty will call her. We enjoyed spending time with them as well as the YaYa's. They are a group of wonderful women that I'm proud to be a part of.

March of Dimes '08

We had beautiful weather today for the March of Dimes walk. Team Riley had 17 walkers/riders. This year we did the Greenwood walk. Although, not as big scale as the Indianapolis walk, they put on a pretty nice deal. The website says the trail was 4 miles, but I'm thinking they meant 4K since we finished it in a little over an hour. I'm so proud of my non-walking family members who walked it with us. The things we'd do for Riley :)
