Beautiful Day

Today was a beautiful day. It started off by Ty picking this flower for me while we were outside playing.
Then we went to pick up my ring! I am so excited to be able to wear it again :)
We were so excited that we went up to the firehouse to show Dennis. While there Ty got to "drive" the firetruck.

After that, we had lunch with my friend Cathy and dinner with my friend Jennifer.

It was a great day :)

Sign Language

In the past week or so, Ty has started to pick up on the sign language I've been trying to teach him since 6 months old. He's got 2 signs down so far: "More" and "All Done". "More" is supposed to look like you are tapping the tips of your fingers on both hands together. Ty's looks more like he's clapping. And "All Done" is supposed to look like you turn your palms toward you, then away from you. Instead, Ty's looks like he's doing the hand motions to the chicken dance, opening and closing his hands. It's pretty cute.

Fun Day with Family

Today was a day of community service for my family. Because our lives have been touched by the experience of having a sick baby, as well as my neice having surgery at Riley Hospital as an infant, we decided to volunteer to bring lunch to the Ronald McDonald House at Riley Hospital.
Here we come!
We had a big crew of both the Dillman & Black Families.
(Griffin, Mark, Dawn, Kathy, Brianna, Dana, Craig, Brayton, Denise, Montana, myself, Layla, my dad, Grace, and my mom).
Getting everything ready for the Taco Bar
My beautiful mom working hard
Grace and all my helpers brought their change to buy cans of soda for the parents.

While we were gone, Dennis & Ty enjoyed the day outside!
It was beautiful.

Easter 2009

We had a WONDERFUL EASTER this year.
We started off at my parent's house.
Here is Ty with his cousins, Brie & Layla
Yes, you can see Ty's fat lip here pretty well. If you did not hear the story, I posted about it earlier this week.
And these are Ty's 2nd cousins, Gabrielle, Grace, & Grant
We did the Easter egg hunt inside since it was muddy outside. Grant decided to be the Easter bunny this year and hide the eggs. He hid one in Grandma's "fro". LOL
Ty loves playing on the stairs at my parent's house. He can crawl up them pretty fast now, but still needs a little help remembering how to slide down on his belly.
"Yea! I found some!"
"My basket's empty"
Brie finding the ones hiding on Uncle Garry.
"Look Daddy!"
Our 2nd stop was at Dennis' parent's house. We did the kid's Easter egg hunt 1st. Each kid has their own color. Ty's were orange.

"Oh wow! Look at this one mom!"

Reach! This one's way up high.

"Look Grandpa Black. See all my eggs!"
This one was Ty's special Easter bunny shaped egg.
No, that's not a bumble bee behind us...that's Dawn's new Smart Car.
"Mmm...that egg had some Honey Grahams in it!"
"Are these eggs too Mom?"
Now it's time for the Adult's Easter Egg Hunt. Each adult has their own color as well as their "big egg". Ty helped us this year.

Busted Lip for Easter

Well we had another toilet incident today. This time he wasn't playing in it...but around it. Dennis was in the shower and Ty was playing peek-a-boo with him through the glass door. I wasn't in the room to see how it happened, but I think Ty got excited and as he swung around he fell into the toilet and busted his bottom lip. It bled like crazy. He was a trooper though and easily distracted with pieces of ice. He wouldn't let me hold it on his lip, but he thought it was cool for him to hold and suck on, which worked out great. He took a nap a couple hrs later and I ran to the store. Dennis was surprised when he went to get Ty out of the crib and there was blood everywhere. I guess it was from sucking his thumb and probably rubbing his face as he slept. Poor little guy. Didn't get a picture today, but I'm sure we'll have plenty of Easter tomorrow :)

Toilet

Yep, we had our 1st toilet incident. Ty has a potty chair in our bathroom as well as a few books for him to "read" while he sits on his chair. He just plays with his chair right now obviously. But that was the problem...he thought ours was to play in too. It's my fault for letting him play in there in the 1st place. Usually he leaves the toilet alone, so it hasn't been a problem. But today, instead of hearing him play, I heard splashing. I went running in to find him with a handfull of toilet paper that had not only been sitting in the water, but had been peed on as well. UGH! YUCK! Needless to say we don't have any pictures b/c my reaction was to yell for Dennis and we quickly put him in the tub.
